Urukingo rwa Covid-19 rwakozwe na Kaminuza ya Oxford ndetse n’ikigo AstraZeneca mu Bwongereza, rwerekanye ko rutanga icyizere kingana na 70,4% cyo kurinda abantu kwandura Covid-19, ndetse ko bishobora no kugera kuri 90%.

Kaminuza ya Oxford na AstraZeneca batangaje ko uru rukingo rwerekanya ko rushobora kurinda abantu benshi bo mu byiciro bitandukanye, harimo n’abakuze, bavuga ko hari ibimenyetso byinshi by’uko rushobora guhagarika ikwirakwira ry’icyorezo.

Umwarimu wigisha iby’inkingo muri Kaminuza ya Oxford, Sarah Gilbert, yavuze ko ibi bitanga icyizere ko igihe cyo kubona urukingo rwahangara Covid-19 cyegereje.

Kaminuza ya Oxford yavuze ko ibyavuye mu igerageza rya gatatu ry’urukingo bakoze, bigaragza ko rutanga icyizere ku kigero cya 70%, ibyo ngo bikaba byaremejwe bigendeye ku byavuye mu igerageza ry’ubwoko bubiri butandukanye, aho bumwe bwagaragaje icyizere cya 90%, mu gihe urundi rwari kuri 62%.

Umuyobozi w’itsinda rikora inkingo ari nawe uhagarariye ibigendanye n’igerageza ryazo, Prof Andrew Pollard, yavuze ko ibi bitanga icyizere ko haba hagiye kuboneka urukingo rwatabara ubuzima bwa benshi.

Yongeyeho ati “Ibi turabikesha abakorerabushake benshi bitanze mu igerageza ry’uru rukingo, ndetse n’itsinda ry’abashakashatsi bari ahatandukanye ku isi.”
