In TICAD V held at Yokohama in 2013, the Japanese Government initiated strong partnership with Japanese private sector to facilitate them to contribute for African Development. JICA has been conducting several programs to facilitate Japanese private sector to activate their business in Africa to contribute socio-economic development. 22 August 2016, by Larissa KanamugireSince 2013, JICA launched the African Business Education Initiative for youth (ABE) as one of the core commitments in TICAD V in Yokohama, Japan in 2013 providing 1,000 youths in Africa with opportunities to study at Japanese universities as well as experience internships at Japanese enterprises to foster human resource development for Africa. Kayonza rusumo road loan signing
22 August 2016, by Larissa KanamugireOn July 13th 2016, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (Chief Representative, Mr. Hiroyuki Takada) signed a loan agreement with MINECOFIN Minister Claver Gatete to provide a Japanese ODA loan of up to 6.889 billion yen (around 68 million USD) for assistance for the Kayonza- Rusumo road improvement project. Alongside the Exchange of Notes were signed by the Ambassador of Japan Takayuki Miyashita and Amb. Claver Gatete.
